Shopping for new door handles

A crystal door handles would perhaps suit a lighter and more delicate door which opens out intoa less used room such as a public room or a spare guest room. You would not use this typeof door handle on a kitchen or a bathroom door which sees a lot of traffic. Door knobs anddoor handles are also subject to a lot of fashion movements and although crystal door knobsmay not be in fashion during the 1990’s, they are coming back into fashion. They can nowform an attractive feature in many homes throughout the country. A further look which tendsto come and go is the brushed silver look. Despite the fact that there is no silver employedanywhere, an alloy is used which can give the look of silver.

A further test for a good door handles and a good door knob is the plating on the door handle. This however is not a concern for crystal door knobs though they can have a protectivecoating to help keep them in good order for longer. Other types of metal door knobs and doorhandles will have a protective covering or plating to help them last longer and the thickerthe plating the more expensive the door handle. Additionally, the heavier and thicker theproduct then the more chance there is that the door knob will require more usage and be moresubject to traffic. A crystal door knob will usually be quite a fine addition to the door and it isunusual to find a large and cumbersome crystal door handle.

Security is a further feature which needs to be considered. Depending on where the door issituated, a door may well require a secure key mechanism. This will be required for exteriordoors and for office doors but as you won’t use a crystal door knob for this purpose then youwon’t require a secure key mechanism. As well as looking nice the crystal door knob shouldhave a good mechanism and this is where quality comes into play. A crystal door knob canlook magnificent but can also have a high quality mechanism which means the door will openand close without problems.
